Residents encouraged to ‘Ask the Leader’ at event in Royal Wootton Bassett
Wiltshire Council is continuing to host its series of community events across the county where people can ask questions to find out more about the work of the areas so far.
The next event takes place at Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Football Club on Wednesday 16 October from 6pm to 7.30pm.
People are encouraged to ask any questions about the council, its objectives and priorities, and the challenges ahead. The events are an opportunity to put questions directly to the Leader of the Council, Cllr Richard Clewer, and hear his thoughts and plans for the future.
Previous events have taken place in Chippenham, Devizes, Westbury, Trowbridge, Salisbury, Southern Wiltshire, Calne, Melksham, Warminster, South West Wiltshire, Malmesbury, Corsham, Bradford on Avon and Marlborough.
Cllr Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said: “Thank you to everyone who came along to the last event in Marlborough earlier this month. It was really useful to discuss issues and ideas with residents and I am now taking forward the solutions we discussed.
“I have now visited most of Wiltshire’s community areas and it’s been such a valuable experience to discuss areas of concern locally as well as issues relating to the whole county and how these could be resolved. The next event takes place in the Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade community area on 16 October and I would encourage residents to come along and ask me any questions and find out more about the work we are doing.
“These events have been a great opportunity to tackle issues that are unique to each community area and ensure our priorities reflect those of local communities.
“If people can’t make the event but would still like to ask a question, they can submit it in advance to communications@wiltshire.gov.uk.”
